The Moto G5S Plus Dual cam is the latest instalment of Motorola’s phone family. So this is definitely one of the phones that are grabbing people’s attention thanks to the dual camera feature. It also helps that the Moto G5S Plus has a relatively cheap price compared to other smartphones that can produce high-quality image results. This brings us to the question of whether the Moto G5S Plus is worth it and whether it can truly produce greater results for your camera experience?

So what makes this phone special and what makes it pop out from the rest?

Features

The Moto G5S Plus comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 2.0GHz octa-core for a powerful performance, it is also powered by the Android 7.1 Nougat, one of Android’s newest and more convenient operating system in terms of productivity. In addition, it also comes with a 3GB and 4GB RAM and dual 13-megapixel rear f/2.0 cameras and a front 8-megapixel camera. The combination of specs this Moto G5S Plus has plays a great role in creating an exceptional user experience. However, this is the question we need to answer. We look at each feature more thoroughly.

Camera

The Moto G5S Plus’ dual camera has been something highly talked about amongst the tech community. Its powerful camera is thought to be able to compete with that of more advanced smartphones. The main purpose of the dual camera here is mostly for background blurring, which creates more depth in photos. The offset camera creates a depth map of a scene, which separates the background from the foreground and process them independently. The Moto take, however, is not all that great, being the slowest part of the camera. It needs some time to process, however, you can still receive great results – as if taken from a DSLR.

Generally, the results of the Moto G5S Plus camera creates amazing and outstanding images in terms of quality. The camera performance, however, is quite lagged. There are problems in snapping the pictures, where there is a delay in the shutter and the shots being captured, there also seemed to be a lag in taking another picture. So even though this camera does produce exceptional images, you may need to be patient in terms of the process of taking pictures.

Battery power

In terms of battery life, the Moto G5S Plus has a rather long-lasting battery life, which makes things more convenient and productive for your use. If you have had a powerful smartphone that is constantly draining your battery life, it is most likely that you will be out of batteries by the time you wake up in the morning, which was not the case for the G5S Plus. The G5S Plus also supports the Motorola Turbo battery charging, which will charge the battery in about 30 to 40 minutes. So this phone does make things more convenient for productivity use.

Powerful connection

This phone also works conveniently for all mobile networks – whether GSM or CDMA. You can apparently insert any SIM and be up and running, be it Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and more. The convenience of the G5S Plus is that its carrier makes the phone easy to use anywhere and in any situation, which is great if you are the constantly on-the-go type of person.

USB port

One of the rather inconvenient things about the G5S Plus is that it uses a micro USB port rather than the USB-C One. Unfortunately, the micro USB is not a current option and it is harder to find when looking for cables or ports. So this is one feature that makes life a hassle.

Conclusion

The Moto G5S Plus is a contender in the mobile industry, a phone that provides most general features more advanced smartphones provide today, it also comes at a cheaper price at USD 300. If you would like a complete and convenient phone with great camera work at a cheap price this is the phone to get. The G5S Plus is clearly not an iPhone for sure, however, it does have all the needs you can hope for from any smartphone – as a person looking for productivity on-the-go. Aside from the slight inconvenience with the camera lag time and micro USB port, this phone functions very well, so if you do not mind a slightly less advanced version of an iPhone than this phone is worth the purchase.
